In the Age of Ejaculation, centuries before the Great Rending, hundreds of hybrid species came into being. Though the line between “people” and “animals“ has greatly solidified since those days and many types have fallen extinct or gone into hiding, a number of Hybrid races – collectively known as “Beastkin” – retained enough similarity with other Mortals to continue interbreeding, passing their unique physical and mental traits down (and back and forth) to the present day.
Many individual Beastkin will fraternize with Humans and Elves for at least part of their lives – even joining occasional dungeon exploring parties or taking jobs in cities. This is especially true of Canidkin and Catkin – both of whom get along quite well with humans in particular – and of the Lizardkin, who have adopted many aspects of human culture in their own way.
